Abstract

Abstract The damping element for acoustic and mechanical vibrations has a piston (4) which is located inside a chamber (1) filled with a high viscosity substance (2). The piston rod (3) protrudes through the chamber wall. It carries two retainer rings (13, 12) near its end between which two flexible discs are placed (14, 15). The agitator element (16) and the axial wall of the damper support frame (9) are held between the two flexible discs (14, 15) and the support frame (9), whilst the energy of large amplitude vibrations is absorbed by the piston movement inside the chamber (1).
