Abstract Translated from German Die Träger enthalten übliche aktive Komponenten, nämlich Edelmetalle der 8. Nebengruppe oder deren Verbindungen, sowie als Aktivatoren Alkaliverbindungen, Erdalkaliverbindungen oder Cadmiumverbindungen. Auch die Träger bestehen aus üblichen Materialien, wie Kieselsäure. Neu ist die Form der Trägerteilchen: es sind Strangabschnitte mit sternförmigem Querschnitt (Figur 1-7) oder gerippte Stränge (Figur 8). Relativ zum Schüttgewicht und damit relativ zur eingesetzten Edelmetallmenge wird eine wesentlich höhere Raum-Zeit-Leistung erzielt als mit Trägerteilchen von konventioneller Form. The carriers contain customary active components, namely noble metals of subgroup 8 or their compounds, and, as activators, alkali metal compounds, alkaline earth metal compounds or cadmium compounds. The supports are also made of common materials such as silica. The shape of the carrier particles is new: there are strand sections with a star-shaped cross section (FIGS. 1-7) or ribbed strands (FIG. 8). Relative to the bulk density and thus relative to the amount of precious metal used, a significantly higher space-time performance is achieved than with carrier particles of conventional shape.
