Cationic azo dyestuffs, their preparation, their use in colouring synthetic and natural materials, and compositions containing them
Abstract
Cationic azo dyes of the general formula <IMAGE> wherein X <(+)> is an ammonium group, m 0 or 1, R1 is hydrogen, C1- to C4-alkyl, C1- to C4-alkoxy or halogen, R2 and R3 independently of one another hydrogen, C1 -C4-alkyl, C1- to C4-alkoxy or acylamino, Z halogen or a radical of the formula <IMAGE> R4 and R5 independently of one another hydrogen, C1- to C4-alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, benzyl or phenylethyl, which are substituted by hydroxy, C1 to C4 alkoxy, chlorine or cyano and the cyclohexyl, phenyl, benzyl and phenylethyl radical can additionally be substituted by C1 to C4 alkyl, or R4 and R5 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, a 5- or 6-membered ring, A is an aryl radical and An <(-)> is an anion, are suitable for dyeing synthetic and natural materials.
