Abstract

Abstract A thin film waveguide path is composed of a waveguide path layer (1) of a first transparent high molecular material, at least one intermediate layer (2) of a second organic high molecular material having a solvent solubility different from that of the first material and a lower refractive index lower than that of said first material, and a substrate (3) of a third high molecular material different from the two first and second materials for supporting the waveguide path (1) and each intermediate layer (2).
