Abstract
Abstract The combination of different fibres is proposed for waste gas particle filters made from wound bodies. The essential filter action is provided by a base fibre (110, 120) of very thin elementary filaments (140) which can consist of ceramics, glass and the like, whereas metal fibres (130) - especially steel fibres - are provided in and/or around the wound body, which metal fibres assist the filter action and at the same time provide the requisite stiffness of the wound body (100). <IMAGE>
