Method to simulate the movements of human dummies
Abstract
Abstract To achieve realistic simulation of movements in human dummies, the dummy is firstly divided up for calculation into a multiplicity of volumetric units which are movable relative to one another. In this case, the volumetric units are fixed in each case in their spatial extension by a multiplicity of memorised coordinate points which define both the surfaces and the interior of the volumetric units. By altering the memorised spatial coordinate points according to movement equations, the volumetric units are simulated in their movement relative to one another and, if appropriate, relative to a surrounding area. In this case, a plausibility check of the movement states is carried out in respect of human anatomy and, if appropriate, geometry of the surrounding area. The spatial coordinate points are determined in such a way that uninterrupted surface transitions result between adjacent volumetric units in all movement states. <IMAGE>
