Abstract

Abstract An image reviewing station system for picture archiving and communication system (PACS), having two functions of user interface and display an image wherein base memory, image processor, and display memory architecture is used. The digitized image data at any size from any different modalities is stored in base memory in an original format, and read-out signals are processed appropriately in the image processor responsive to the command signals input by the user, then the processed image data is stored in display memory before being supplied to display means via digital-to-analog converter for the display. It provides the user with extensive, concise and easy interactive image manipulation and processing capabilities.

A system for use in reviewing an image on a display means, said system comprising: base memory means for storing digitized image data transferred from an image source; image processor means coupled to said base memory means for providing output data for use by the display means, said image processor means including, means responsive to said stored data for the image for obtaining the values of estimated image data at points along the line between said data to be zoomed by a fractional bilinear interpolating between the values of said stored data; display memory means coupled to said image processor means for storing data on the image being currently displayed on the display means; user input means for generating input signals indicative of selected images and image formats to be viewed; and control processor means connected through an internal bus to said base memory, image processor, and display memory means for providing the corresponding command signals responsive to said input signals from said user input means.
