Abstract
Abstract Described is a method for measuring the ion concentration and the like of a sample by impregnating a liquid-absorbing material with the sample and bringing said impregnated material into contact with the measuring portion of a device for measuring the ion concentration and the like. Furtheron, a sheet is disclosed for the calibration of the device for measuring the ion concentration and the like and a method for calibrating the device for measuring the ion concentration and the like measuring device using said sheet.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim
44 words
A method for measuring the ion concentration and the like of a sample, characterized by impregnating a liquid-absorbing material with the sample and bringing said impregnated material into contact with the measuring portion of a device for measuring the ion concentration and the like.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
44 words
A method for measuring the ion concentration and the like of a sample, characterized by impregnating a liquid-absorbing material with the sample and bringing said impregnated material into contact with the measuring portion of a device for measuring the ion concentration and the like.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
19 words
The method according to claim 1, characterized in that said liquid-absorbing material is directly impregnated with a liquid sample.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
32 words
The method according to claim 1, characterized in that said liquid-absorbing material is pre-impregnated with a liquid which does not influence the measurement and brought into contact with a comparatively dry sample.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
31 words
The method according to claim 1, characterized in that said liquid-absorbing material is pre-impregnated with a liquid which does not influence the measurement and brought into contact with a gaseous sample.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
51 words
The method according to claim 1, characterized in that a powdery or solid sample is placed on the upper surface of the liquid-absorbing material which is brought into contact with the measuring unit, and a liquid which does not influence the measurement is added dropwise to the powdery or solid sample.
Claim 7
Independent Claim
39 words
The method according to claims 3 to 5, characterized in that the pre-impregnating liquid which does not influence the measurement is distilled water or a 0.1% NaOH solution which is adjusted to a pH to about 5.0 with HCl.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
32 words
The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the measurement is carried out by means of a device for measuring the ion concentration, the quantity of dissolved oxygen or the conductivity.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
47 words
A sheet for the calibration of the device for measuring the ion concentration and the like for use in the method according to claim 1 to 7, characterized by a chemically stabilized hygroscopic water-absorbing sheet eluting no ion impregnated with a calibrating buffer solution and thereafter dried.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
61 words
A method for calibrating the device for measuring the ion concentration and the like used according to claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the sheet according to claim 8 is brought into contact with an electrode of the device for measuring the ion concentration and the like and a predetermined quantity of pure water is added dropwise to said sheet.
