Abstract

Abstract An apparatus for accommodating box-like articles is disclosed, which comprises a case (12) open at least at the front for permitting a plurality of box-like articles [e.g., cassettes (11)] to be slidably accommodated through the front opening (13) independently of one another and in a plurality of rows disposed one above another, biasing means [e.g., compression springs (27) and (34)] for independently forwardly urging the box-like articles (11) accommodated in the case (12), locking means [e.g., heart-like cam groove (30c) and locking pin (36)] for locking the box-like articles (11) in their retreated positions in the case (12) against the biasing forces of the biasing means (27, 34), and stopper means [e.g., shoulder surface (40) of the case (12), front edge (14˝) of upper slide holder (14), upright surfaces (15c) of lower slide holder (15) and rear wall surface of recessed portion (19)] for stopping the box-like articles (11) such that these in a row partly project outwardly from the opening (13) of the case (12) to a smaller extent than that in the next lower row.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 207 words
In an apparatus for box-like articles comprising a case (12) open at least at the front, a slide holder (15) slidably accommodated in said case for supporting on a support surface (15′) a box-like article (11) inserted into said case through the front opening (13), a lid (17) pivotably coupled to the front end of said slide holder for opening and closing the front opening, and forwardly pivotally turned down about the point (42) of its pivotal support to open the front opening, biasing means (56, 34) for forwardly urging said slide holder and lid together, and locking means (36, 30c) for locking said slide holder in a retreated position in said case against the biasing force of said biasing means and also locking said lid in an upright state closing the front opening of said case, said apparatus characterised by stopper means (40, 19, 15c) for restricting the foremost position of said slide holder pushed out by the biasing force of said biasing means, and angle restriction means (15˝, 17˝) for restricting the maximum open angle of said lid when the inner surface (17′) of said lid having been forwardly turned down lies substantially in the same plane as said support surface of said slide holder.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 207 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 34 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, which further comprises an air damper (30a, 21) for braking the movement of said slide holder caused by said biasing means and/or movement of said lid being opened.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 45 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, which further comprises an urging member (48) provided on the front edge of said case for forwardly urging a portion of the inner surface of said lid in the upright state thereof lower than said pivotal support point thereof.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 73 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said locking means includes a cylinder (21) secured to said case, a piston rod (30) slidable in said cylinder, a heart-like cam groove (30c) formed in the upper surface of an intermediate portion in the length of said piston rod, and a locking pin (36) having a stem portion (36a) secured to said case and a tracing portion (36b) extending to swing along said cam groove.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 28 words
The apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said locking means (63, 64) further includes safety means for preventing its releasing action when said slide holder experiences a momentum.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 36 words
The apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said safety means includes a weight (63) slidable along one side of said locking pin and a coil spring (64) for normally biasing said weight in a retreating direction.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 28 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said lid is provided on the inner surface thereof adjacent to the opposite sides with a pair of projecting ribs (41).
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 48 words
The apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said lid is provided on the central inner surface thereof with a pivotal section (43) on which one end of a joint (44) having the other end thereof attached pivotally to the front end of said piston rod is pivotally supported.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 40 words
The apparatus accordng to claim 8, wherein said joint is covered by a joint cover (46) which, in cooperation with said pair of projecting ribs, constitutes a guide means that determines the direction in which the box-like articles are inserted.
