Apparatus for the treatment of human limbs by intermittent compression
Abstract
The device consists of at least one sleeve (2) with a number of chambers (13). The cuff can be placed around the patient's limb to be treated, while the chambers (13) can then be inflated and deflated using valves (15). To achieve an optimal treatment of the patient and a simple construction of the device, all valves (15) are connected in series and can be controlled in succession via a common control line (12). Furthermore, a supply line (11) and the control line (12) are only connected to the first valve (15a), while behind them two adjacent valves (15) are connected to each other by supply and control line sections (11a to e and 12a to e) are. The valve body (29) of each valve (15a, 15) separates a supply chamber (33) of the valve, which constantly communicates on the one hand with a supply line part to be supplied and on the other hand with the associated chamber, from a control chamber (32) of the valve which constantly communicates with the control line. After filling the associated chamber (13), the valve body (29) of the valve opens a valve opening (30), whereby supply air can reach the next valve (15) in order to inflate the chamber (13) belonging to it.
