Breath sound diagnostic apparatus
Abstract
Abstract A sensor (1) converts the respiratory sounds into electrical signals which are received in the sampler/blocking circuit (9) for sampling them and producing samples of the measurement signals, each sample having a constant level over a predetermined period of time. An analog-to-digital convertor (11) converts each signal sample into a binary signal in order to be applied to a rapid digital processor (12) designed to produce a signal representing the spectrum of each sample of the measurement signal, and a microcomputer (14) is designed to carry out, on the signal representing the spectrum of each sample, an analysis procedure both on frequencies and on times. The result of this analysis is shown in real time on a visual display screen (16) which thus provides a means for monitoring, in real time, the respiratory phenomena of a patient. <IMAGE>
