Abstract
Abstract There is provided a fluctuation stabilizing apparatus comprising: a detecting section (20) to obtain a motion in each field or frame of an input image signal; an integrator (15) to integrate the motion obtained; and a centering controller (16) for controlling so as to attenuate the integrated value in correspondence to an output of the integrator, wherein the centering controller (16) has characteristics such as to increase the attenuation of the integrated value when the integrated value is large.

An apparatus according to claim 1, having a stabilization range detector (40) to obtain an average motion amount from the output of the integrator (15), and wherein in the case where the average motion amount is large, the characteristics of the centering controller (16) are controlled so as to further increase the attenuation of the integrated value.
