Abstract

The invention relates to a hemodialysis machine with a hemodialyzer (10), which has a blood pump (30) on the blood side that delivers blood from a patient to the dialyzer (10) and a dialysis fluid pump (20) that delivers dialysis fluid to the dialyzer on the dialysis fluid side. The hemodialysis machine has a control device (100) to which a signal derived from the size of the blood flow is supplied on the input side and which outputs a signal for setting the dialysis fluid flow as a function of the blood flow on the output side. With such an automatic control, dialysis concentrate, treated water and energy can be saved. The predetermined control function can be a linear function. It can also be specified by means of a numerical data field which is stored in a matrix in the control device (100) which, for each blood flow of a particular dialyzer (10), indicates a dialysis fluid flow in which a certain percentage of the clearance is achieved with an infinite dialysis fluid flow.
