Abstract

Abstract Described are fluorinated polyurethanes with hydroxy functionality, obtainable by reacting at least one diisocyanate with at least one hydroxy-capped (per)fluoropolyether, preferably having a molecular weight of from about 400 to about 7000 and with at least one polyol having a functionality of at least 2. These products are useful for the treatment of lithoidal materials.

Polyurethanes according to claim 1, wherein the ratio of NCO equivalents to total OH equivalents ranges from 0.001 to 1.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 41 words
Polyurethanes according to any one of claims 1 and 2, wherein the diisocyanate is selected from compounds of general formula I: OCN-R₁-NCO      (I) wherein R₁ is a alkylene, cycloalkylene, alkylene-cycloalkylene or arylene group and contains from 1 to 20 carbon atoms.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 126 words
Polyurethanes according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the hydroxy-capped (per)fluoropolyethers are fluoropolyoxyalkylene ethers having an average molecular weight of from about 400 to about 7000 and have the general formula II: HO-R f -OH      (II) wherein R f is selected from wherein: R is selected from -(CH₂) x -; -[(CH₂O) y CH₂]-, and -(CH₂) x -OCH₂-, with x and y being integers of from 1 to 4; m and n are integers with a ratio m/n of from 0.2 to 2, preferably from 0.5 to 1.2; R′ f is a perfluoroalkylene radical; X is F or CF₃; k, j, w, u, d, b, r, c, v, z, a and g are integers such that the resulting molecular weights are within the indicated range.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 55 words
Polyurethanes according to any one of the preceding claims, having an average molecular weight of at least about 1000, preferably from about 2000 to about 5000, a hydroxy functionality of at least 2, preferably from 2 to 6,and a fluorine content of at least 30% by weight, preferably of from 35 to 50% by weight.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 96 words
