A communication system comprising a called receiver and a communication apparatus

Claim 2

A communication system comprising a receiver (21) to be called, a communication apparatus (1) for calling said receiver, and a transmission path connected between said receiver and said communication apparatus (1), said receiver comprising reception means (22,23) connected to said transmission path for receiving the calling signal and display data applied through said transmission path, and display means (27) responsive to said received display data for displaying the type of signal received by said communication apparatus, said communication apparatus (1) comprising image signal recording means (8) connected to said transmission path, automatic answering telephone means (6) connected to said transmission path, storing means (9), manual operation means (11) for storing the calling number of said receiver and display data to be displayed in said display means (27) of said receiver (21) into said storing means, determination means (4) connected to said transmission path for making determination as to whether the entered signal is a image signal or a voice signal in response to the calling signal from the caller, means (5) responsive to the determination signal of said determination means (4) for enabling either said image signal recording means (8) or said automatic answering telephone means (6), read out means (18) responsive to the communication end signal for reading out the calling number of the receiver from said storing means (9) and display data corresponding to the type of the transmitted signal, and modulating means for modulating said read out calling number and display data.

Claim 3

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said transmission path comprises a telephone line by radio.

Claim 4

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said transmission path comprises a telephone line by wire.

Claim 5

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said receiver comprises a portable radio called receiver.

Claim 6

The communication system according to claim 4, wherein said portable radio called receiver (21) comprises a receiving antenna (22), demodulating means (23) for demodulating the calling signal and the display data from said communication apparatus, tone generating means (25), and control means (24) responsive to said demodulated calling signal for enabling said tone generating means and for displaying the display data on said display means (27).

Claim 7

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said display means comprises a liquid crystal display.

Claim 8

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said image signal recording means comprises a facsimile device (8).

Claim 9

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said automatic answering telephone means (6) comprises message signal generating means (6c) for generating message signal to listen to the message of the caller, voice signal recording means (6e,6d) for recording the voice signal of the caller, and means responsive to the request signal from the carrier of said receiver (21) for transmitting the recorded voice signal to said transmission path.

Claim 10

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said storing means comprises a read only memory and a random access memory, said random access memory storing the calling number of said receiver and the display data, and said read only memory storing the program for operating the communication apparatus.

Claim 11

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said manual operation means comprises push-button telephone keys, a plurality of functional keys for storing said display data and said calling number of said receiver, and display means for confirming the registered data.

Claim 12

The communication system according to claim 1, wherein said modulating means comprises dual tone multi-­frequency modulating means for modulating the read out data into dual tone multi-frequency signals.

Claim 13

A communication system comprising a receiver to be called, a communication apparatus for calling said receiver, and a transmission path connected between said receiver and said communication apparatus, said receiver comprising means connected to said transmission path for receiving the calling number and display data applied through said transmission path, and display means for displaying according to said received display data, said communication apparatus comprising image signal recording means connected to said transmission path, automatic answering telephone means connected to said transmission path, storing means, manual operation means for storing in said storing means the calling number of said receiver and the display data to be displayed on said display means, determination means connected to said transmission path for making the determination as to whether the transmitted signal is an image signal or a voice signal in response to the calling signal from the caller, means responsive to the determination signal of said determination means for enabling either said image signal storing means or said automatic answering telephone means, identification number detection means for detecting the identification number from the caller, writing means responsive to said identification number detection signal to allow the writing into said storing means for writing the message data for display next entered into the storing means, read out means responsive to the communication end signal for reading out the calling number of the receiver from said storing means, and the display data corresponding to the transmitted signal or the message data for display from the caller, and modulating means for modulating said read out calling number and the display data or the message data for display.

Claim 14

A communication system comprising a receiver to be called, a communication apparatus for calling said receiver, and a transmission path connected between said receiver and said communication apparatus, said receiver comprising means connected to said transmission path for receiving the calling number and display data applied through said transmission path, and display means for displaying according to said received display data, said communication apparatus comprising image signal recording means connected to said transmission path, automatic answering telephone means connected to said transmission path, storing means, manual operation means for storing in said storing means the calling number of said receiver and the display data to be displayed on said display means, determination means connected to said transmission path for making the determination as to whether the transmitted signal is an image signal or a voice signal in response to the calling signal from the caller, means responsive to the determination signal of said determination means for enabling either said image signal storing means or said automatic answering telephone means, identification number detection means for detecting the identification number from the caller, writing means responsive to said identification number detection signal to allow the writing into said storing means for writing the message data for display next entered into the storing means, read out means responsive to the communication end signal for reading out the calling number of the receiver from said storing means, and the display data corresponding to the transmitted signal or the message data for display from the caller, and modulating means for modulating said read out calling number and the display data or the message data for display.

Claim 15

The communication system according to claim 12, wherein said storing means comprises a read only memory and a random access memory, said random access memory storing the calling number of the receiver, the display data, the identification number, and the message data for display, and said read only memory storing the program for operating said communication apparatus.

Claim 16

The communication system according to claim 13, wherein said random access memory comprises a telephone number region for storing the calling number of said receiver and the identification number, a registration region for registering the display data, and a standby region where the display data is on standby.

Claim 17

The communication system according to claims 12 and 13, wherein said writing means is responsive to the entry of said identification number to transfer the display data registered in the registration region into the standby region for writing the next entered message data for display into the registration region.

In a communication system comprising a receiver to be called, a communication apparatus for calling said receiver, and a transmission path connected between said receiver and said communication apparatus; said receiver comprising reception means connected to said transmission path for receiving the calling signal and display data applied through said transmission path, and display means responsive to said received display data for displaying the type of signal received by the communication apparatus; said communication apparatus comprising image signal recording means connected to said transmission path, automatic answering telephone means connected to said transmission path, and storing means; a method of communication comprises the steps of: storing into said storing means the calling number of said receiver and the display data to be displayed at said display means of said receiver, making the determination as to whether the applied signal is an image signal or a voice signal in response to the calling signal from the caller, enabling either said image signal recording means or said automatic answering telephone means in response to said determination signal, reading out from said storing means the calling number of the receiver and the display data corresponding to the type of the signal transmitted, in response to the communication end signal, and modulating said read out calling number and display data.

In a communication system comprising a receiver to be called, a communication apparatus for calling said receiver, and a transmission path connected between said receiver and said communication apparatus; said receiver comprising reception means connected to said transmission path for receiving the calling signal and display data applied through said transmission path, and display means responsive to said received display data for displaying the type of signal received by the communication apparatus; said communication apparatus comprising image signal recording means connected to said transmission path, automatic answering telephone means connected to said transmission path, and storing means; a method of communication comprises the steps of: storing into said storing means the calling number of said receiver and the display data to be displayed at said display means of said receiver, making the determination as to whether the applied signal is an image signal or a voice signal in response to the calling signal from the caller, enabling either said image signal recording means or said automatic answering telephone means in response to said determination signal, reading out from said storing means the calling number of the receiver and the display data corresponding to the type of the signal transmitted, in response to the communication end signal, and modulating said read out calling number and display data.

In a communication system comprising a receiver to be called, a communication apparatus for calling said receiver, and a transmission path connected between said receiver and said communication device; said receiver comprising reception means connected to said transmission path for receiving the calling signal and display data entered through said transmission path, and display means for displaying in response to said received display data the type of signal received by the communication apparatus; said communication apparatus comprising image signal recording means connected to said transmission path, automatic answering telephone means connected to said communication path, and storing means; a method of communication comprises the steps of: storing in said storing means the calling number of said receiver, the display data for displaying onto said display means, and a predetermined identification number, making determination as to whether the transmitted signal is an image signal or a voice signal in response to the calling signal from the caller, enabling either said image signal storing means or automatic answering telephone means in response to the determination signal of said determination means, detecting the identification number from said caller, allowing the writing into said storing means in response to said identification number detection signal to write into said storing means the message data next entered, reading out the calling number of said receiver from said storing means and the display data corresponding to the transmitted signal or the message data from the caller in response to the communication end signal, and modulating said read out calling number and the display data or the message data.

Claim 21

In a communication system comprising a receiver to be called, a communication apparatus for calling said receiver, and a transmission path connected between said receiver and said communication device; said receiver comprising reception means connected to said transmission path for receiving the calling signal and display data entered through said transmission path, and display means for displaying in response to said received display data the type of signal received by the communication apparatus; said communication apparatus comprising image signal recording means connected to said transmission path, automatic answering telephone means connected to said communication path, and storing means; a method of communication comprises the steps of: storing in said storing means the calling number of said receiver, the display data for displaying onto said display means, and a predetermined identification number, making determination as to whether the transmitted signal is an image signal or a voice signal in response to the calling signal from the caller, enabling either said image signal storing means or automatic answering telephone means in response to the determination signal of said determination means, detecting the identification number from said caller, allowing the writing into said storing means in response to said identification number detection signal to write into said storing means the message data next entered, reading out the calling number of said receiver from said storing means and the display data corresponding to the transmitted signal or the message data from the caller in response to the communication end signal, and modulating said read out calling number and the display data or the message data.
