Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 224 words
An image processing apparatus comprising: image reading means (41, 310) for reading a plural-page document so as to obtain images; image storage means (51, 233) for storing the images obtained by the image reading means (41, 310); printing means (43) for printing the images obtained by the image reading means (41, 310) and the images stored in the image storage means (51, 233), and characterized by further comprising: means (10, 13, 30) for preparing abstract images which correspond to the images of the plural-page document read by the image reading means (41, 310) and. stored in the image storage means (51, 233) and forming the abstract images on a document (Q), means (10, 13, 51) for attaching retrieval data to the document which is a one-page document (Q) on which the abstract images prepared by the preparing means (10, 13, 30) are formed so as to print the abstract images prepared by the preparing means (10, 13, 30) and the retrieval data on one paper sheet by the printing means (43); means (10, 13, 41, 313) for extracting the retrieval data from the abstract images by reading the one-page document (Q) on which the abstract images and the retrieval data are formed; and means (10, 13, 41, 51) for retrieving the image corresponding to the retrieval data from the image storage means (51, 233).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 33 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that said attaching means (10, 13, 51) includes means for adding code data (802, 805) to the one-page document (Q) to form the retrieval data.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 144 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that said preparing means (10, 13, 30) forms the abstract images on first and second sides (800, 807) of a one-page document (Q), said preparing means (10, 13, 30) including: (a) designating means (117) for designating the number of pages to be formed on the second side (807) of the one-page document (Q); (b) first preparing means (10, 13, 482) for preparing an image corresponding to a first page of the plural-page document and forming the image on the first side (800) of the one-page document (Q); and (c) second preparing means (10, 13, 483) for preparing images corresponding to remaining pages of the plural-page document and forming the images on the second side (807) of the one-page document (Q) in a reduced scale determined in accordance with the number designated by the designating means (117).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 89 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that said preparing means (10, 13) includes: (a) designating means (117) for designating the number of pages formed on the one-page document (Q); and (b) abstract image preparing means (10, 13) for preparing abstract images corresponding to the images of the plural-page document and sequentially forming the abstract images on the one-page document (Q) in the order of page numbering of the plural-page document and in a reduced scale determined in accordance with the number designated by the designating means (117).
