Abstract Process characterised in that: - (a) the article is impregnated with a mixture of ceramic precursor polymers, a mixture consisting of 10 - 95 % by weight of at least one polyborazane and 90 - 5 % by weight of at least one polysilazane, - (b) the coated article is subjected to a pyrolysis treatment in an inert or reducing atmosphere or in vacuum, with a view to converting the mixture to ceramic. i
