Abstract

Abstract A communication system includes at least one slave communication device (31b) to be a communication partner to a master communication device for performing data transfer therebetween using communication packets (40,41). Each of the communication packets includes control bits (17) which are information relating to locking for the slave communication device and data length bits (20) indicative of the size of a message to be transferred. In transmitting the communication packet from the master communication device to the slave communication device, the slave communication device (31b) is locked when locking is designated by the control bits (17) and is unlocked when a message having a data length specified by the data length bits (20) has been transferred successfully. Thus, the slave communication device (31b) can be locked or unlocked by the master communication device (31a) using the same control bits in accordance with information as to whether or not a predetermined message has been transferred successfully. Thus, the processing in the master communication device can made simple and the transfer efficiency of a message can be improved.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 136 words
A communication system comprising a transmission path (30), at least one master communication device (31a) capable of executing a communication, and at least one slave communication device (31b) to be a communication partner to said master communication device for performing data transfer therebetween using communication packets (40,41), characterized in that each of said communication packets includes control bits (17) which are information relating to locking of said slave communication device and data length bits (20) indicative of the size of a message to be transferred, and that in transmitting said communication packets from said master communication device to said slave communication device, said slave communication device is locked when locking is designated by said control bits and is unlocked when a message having a data length specified by said data length bits has been transferred successfully.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 41 words
A communication system according to claim 1, wherein, in transmitting said communication packets (40,41) from said master communication device (31a) to said slave communication device (31b), said slave communication device is unlocked when unlocking is designated by said control bits (17).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 99 words
A communication device for receiving, through a transmission path (30) from a master communication device (31a), communication packets (40,41) composed of control bits (17) including at least information relating to locking, a message (23) and data length bits (20) indicative of the length of the message, characterized by comprising a receiving unit (33) for demodulating a signal on said transmission path to convert it into logic data, a data link controller (34) for analyzing the logic data sent from said receiving unit and a lock status unit (38) for storing information relating locking sent from said data link controller.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 70 words
A communication device according to claim 3, wherein, if said control bits (17) in said communication packets are a code relating to locking and the message having a length specified by said data length bits (20) has not been received successfully, said data link controller (34) writes information relating to locking in said lock status unit (38) so that said slave communication device is locked by said master communication device.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 70 words
A communication device according to claim 3, wherein, if said control bits (17) in said communication packets (40,41) are a code relating to locking and the message having a length specified by said data length bits (20) has been received successfully, said data link controller (34) writes information relating to unlocking in said lock status unit (38) so that said slave communication device is unlocked by said master communication device.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 52 words
A communication device according to claim 3, wherein, if said control bits (17) in said communication packets (40,41) are a code requesting unlocking, said data link controller (34) writes information relating to unlocking in said lock status unit (38) so that the slave communication device is unlocked by said master communication device.
