Abstract

Abstract The food packaging box comprises a bottom (F) having a lateral peripheral wall (10) which is widened along an edge (2) external to the wall surface. The edge has a groove (3) forming a protuberance in the edge plane. A cover (C) comprising a bowl clips onto the groove in the bottom to enclose the contents. A transverse incision (4) in the groove passes through all the width of the groove which is extended under the cover in peripherally folded bulges. These ensure hermetic sealing and evidence of non tampering. There is an interruption (5) in the edge upper bulge and parallel vertical ribs (5) acting as rigidifying beams. Vertical sealing is effected by the external lateral surface of the cover and the internal lateral surface of the bottom upper portion. These two surfaces are in friction contact along the largest part of their height. Placing the cover on the box simultaneously engages the vertical sealing and the horizontal security.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 14
Claim 1
Independent Claim 275 words
Can for packaging food products, comprising a base (F) having a peripheral lateral wall (10) widening out into a rim (2) offset outwards with respect to the surface of the said wall (10), and a lid (C) comprising a dish matching this base to enclose a product to be packaged with a view to marketing it, characterized in that the said rim (2) and the said lid (C) comprise means cooperating with each other to ensure the air-tightness and at the same time the inviolability of the closed can, the said means being on the said lid (C) and the said rim (2) being contiguous and pointing, on a first portion, in a generally vertical direction, and then, on a second portion, pointing in a generally horizontal direction, the placing of the lid (C) on the base (F) determining simultaneously the cooperation of the means having a generally vertical appearance to ensure the leak-tightness of the closure and the cooperation of the means having a generally horizontal appearance ensuring the inviolability of the closure, the means having a generally vertical appearance consisting of an outer lateral surface (21) of the dish of the lid (C) and an inner lateral surface (12) of the upper portion of the said base (F), while the means having a generally horizontal appearance consist of a groove (14) made horizontally outwards from the volume of the can, above the periphery of an annular horizontal surface (13) offsetting the upper rim (2) of the said base outwards, and consisting of at least one outer fold (23) of an annular horizontal surface (22) delimiting the said dish of the cover (C) outwards.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 28 words
Can according to claim 1, characterized in that the two lateral surfaces (12, 21) are in a friction contact at least over the greater part of their height.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
Can according to claim 2, characterized in that the said lateral surfaces (12, 21) in contact are vertical.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
Can according to claim 2, characterized in that the said lateral surfaces (12, 21) in contact are inclined, widening out upwards.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 31 words
Can according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the lateral surface (12) of the base is delimited downwards by a shoulder (11) having a generally horizontal appearance.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 26 words
Can according to claim 5, characterized in that the said shoulder (11) is continuous over all the periphery of the lateral wall (10) of the base.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 29 words
Can according to claim 5, characterized in that the said shoulder (11) is discontinuous, and preferably consists of horizontal upper sections of vertical ribs (6) stiffening the base (F).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 55 words
Can according to any of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the diameter of the fold (23) is slightly greater than the diameter of the inner periphery of the said groove (14), so that the said fold (23) is clipped elastically in the said groove (14) without then being able to escape from it.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 43 words
Can according to any of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that, beyond the said groove (14), the periphery of the said base (F) comprises successive folds creating a rim (2) for stiffening the can and by which the can may be grasped.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 39 words
Can according to claim 9, characterized in that the said successive folds comprise an upper hollow flange (16) situated on the periphery of the said groove (14), and of which the connecting surface (15) to the latter is rounded.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 64 words
Can according to either of claims 9 or 10, characterized in that, over a fraction of its length, the last of the said successive folds (1) comprises outwards a substantially horizontal slot (3) comprising horizontally over all its width an incision (4) creating two lugs for starting a tear in the rim (2) of the base, designed to enable the can to be opened.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 44 words
Can according to claim 11, characterized in that the said incision (4) extends via the successive folds of the base, i.e. the upper flange (16) and the groove (14), to the horizontal annular surface (13) offsetting the upper rim (2) of the base (F).
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 22 words
Can according to claim 12, characterized in that the upper flange (16) comprises a gap (5) localised where the incision (4) passes.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 80 words
Can according to claims 1 to 13, characterized in that the said outer fold (23) of the lid forms a groove at the periphery of the said horizontal annular surface (22) of which the opening is directed upwards into the groove (14) of the base (F), so as to self-lock there elastically after having cooperated, at the moment the lid (C) is inserted, with the rounded surface (15) connecting the upper flange (16) to the groove of the base (14).
