Washing, sterilizing and storing surgical instruments

Abstract

Abstract Appts. is intended for treatment of objects, such as the surgical instruments used in odontology. It comprises a basin for contg. the instruments to be cleaned by means of a liquid detergent; electrodes near the base are connected to an ultrasonic generator so as to secure perfect cleaning of the instruments. The latter are then rinsed in a second basin which is fitted with an agitator and heating means. Sterilisation is effected in a chamber by hot air heated by an electric filament in a quartz tube. Another chamber is provided for storing the instruments in the sterile condition by means of a germicidal ultra-violet lamp. Operation is automatically sequenced.
