Check valve
Abstract
Abstract 1,237,487. Valves. ALFRED TEVES G.m.b.H. 30 Oct., 1969 [2 Nov., 1968], No. 53197/69. Heading F2V. A check valve includes a sealing member 4 comprising a shaft 5 and a head 10, a guide element 3 housing the shaft 5 in a blind bore 6, the bore 6 communicating through a choke 7 to the downstream side of the valve, and wherein the head 10 co-operates with a valve seat 9 and the sealing member 4 is associated with a damping element 11 movable with respect to the head 10. The guide element 3 has several apertures 21 for the passage of fluid past the check valve. The axial movement of the damping element is limited by screw member 20 so that as fluid flows into the check valve (from the right), the sealing member 4, damping element 11 and sealing ring 19 move against the force of the spring and a damping action is achieved by fluid passing the choke 7 from the bore 6. Towards the end of the stroke fluid is throttle in a chamber 13 via passages 23, 14 allowing the sealing ring 19 to return to its normal shape.
