Abstract

Abstract 1,237,761. Releasable fastenings. BELLING & LEE Ltd. 17 Jan., 1969 [18 Jan., 1968], No. 2893/68. Heading E2A. [Also in Division H2] A mounting device for one element 4 of a two-part electrical coupling comprises a body of which one side is planar and which is provided with means, i.e. holes 7, 8, to enable it to be secured upon a flat surface of a supporting member with said planar side abutted thereagainst, said body being provided with an internal recess opening in said planar side and adapted to receive and retain said coupling element, a first aperture 2 in another side of said body adjacent to said planar side and opening into said recess, a second aperture 16 in a further side of said body opposed to said other side, said recess being provided with abutment means 14, 15 adapted to receive said coupling element connected to the end of an electric cable 17 entering said recess through said second aperture and, when said body member is secured upon said surface, to hold said coupling element against excessive movement with its mating portion presented within said first aperture. In the construction shown the element 4 is a co-axial coupling element and the body is formed internally with a partition 9 pierced by a slot 10 of which the inner end is semi-circular; spaced from the partition are two pillars 5, 6 which are pierced by the holes 7 and 8 for mounting screws and between the partition and the pillars is a generally U-shaped resilient holding member 12 formed to grip the connector by resilient deformation to resist removal of the connector from the recess.
