Improvements in or relating to magnetic transducing heads
Abstract
Abstract 889,793. Magnetic recording &c. heads. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 27, 1958 [June 4, 1957], No. 17641/57. Class 40 (2). A magnetic transducing head is formed by bending a strip of ferromagnetic material to the form of Fig. 1, winding it in the regions 1, 2 and bending it as in Fig. 2 so that the ends 3, 4 after finishing, become the working gap and the regions 10, 11 form a magnetic shunt to the loop 9, whose magnetic properties will have been affected by the bending. A support means, Fig. 3, clamps the gap and shunt. In further embodiments, parts of the core are supplemented by additional laminations incorporated before winding.
