Large-screen image display method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To smoothly display an optional large-screen image by transferring only new image data which becomes required when the large-screen image is scrolled and displayed to a proper position of a display image memory, and changing the display position of the display image memory. CONSTITUTION:When the image is scrolled down by one line, the data 204a of one new line is transferred to the position 204b of the display image memory 203. When an image display address registered in a display control register 105 is advanced by one in a Y direction, the transferred data 204b is displayed on the final line. When the image is scrolled upward in the Y direction, a line 207a of the image is transferred to a position 207b and the Y-directional display address is put back by one line to display the image. Those operations are combined to scroll and display the large-screen image on a small display memory 203. Consequently, the large-screen image exceeding the size of the display image memory can smoothly be scrolled and displayed.
