Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To stop the readout only to a congesting buffer of a next stage and to attain readout to other buffer by providing a function informing the operating state of the next stage buffer to a preceding stage buffer and a function controlling the cell transmission at the preceding stage for each output path of the next stage to the system. CONSTITUTION:A switch module Sij (i=1-n, j=1-n) having a buffer to store cells subject to asynchronous multiplex is connected in multi-stage and a link and a control line C[(j+1) i (j)i] are interposed among the switch modules Sij. The system is provided with a function informing the operating state of the next stage buffer to a preceding stage buffer and a function controlling the cell transmission at the preceding stage for each output path of the next stage. Thus, only the readout to a congesting buffer at the succeeding stage is stopped and the readout to other buffers is implemented.
