Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily obtain the above wire rod having excellent mechanical strength by temporarily and spirally winding a tough wire shaped body and a heat resistant tape on the surface of a wire-shaped fiber base material which moves longitudinally while the resin impregnated therein is in an uncured or half-cured state. CONSTITUTION:For example, a glass fiber roving 2 is introduced into the resin liquid of an unsatd. polyester resin in a resin tank 3 and is thereby impregnated with the resin. This roving is continuously transferred in a direction C and is introduced into a preform die 1, by which the excess resin liquid is removed and the fibers are paralleled. A copper wire 12 which is the tough wire-shaped body is spirally wound at prescribed intervals by a winder 4 on the surface of this roving 2. Further, a polyester tape 13 which is the heat resistant tape is similarly wound on the roving 2 so as to cover at least the surface part thereof where the copper wire 12 is not wound. The impregnated resin liquid of this roving 2 is completely cured in a curing furnace 6 and thereafter, the tape 13 and in succession the copper wire 12 are removed by rewinders 7, 8, by which the desired wire-shaped body is obtd.
