Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an image with high reliability and high image quality which is excellent in dimensional stability by providing a silicone rubber elastic layer, an oil barrier layer made of fluororubber and a specified releasing layer on a metallic shaft core. CONSTITUTION:By providing the elastic layer 2 made of the silicone rubber having high thermal conductivity, an appropriate hardness is accomplished and the responsiveness to heat from a heat source provided inside a shaft core becomes excellent, then it is possible to delay the deterioration of the rubber layer near a boundary between the shaft core and the rubber layer. Then, the oil barrier layer 3 made of the fluororubber is provided to cover the elastic layer 2, so that silicone oil applied to the surface of a roller as offset prevention liquid is prevented from penetrating even into the elastic layer and causing a failure. The releasing layer 4 is formed on the surface of the roller by using a composition consisting of resin-reinforced 100% siloxane which does not contain a solid filler such as active silica. Therefore, the roller excellent in releasing from toner and surface smoothness is obtained. Thus, the high-quality image is fixed for a long time.
