Production of zinc sulfide phosphor activated with silver
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title stable zinc sulfide phosphor having high emission luminance and a little variability of emission luminance among plural quartz crucibles by blending a fluorescent substance raw material with ammonium chloride in a powdery state by a dry method and burning. CONSTITUTION:Zinc sulfide as a parent material is blended with silver nitrate, potassium chloride and magnesium chloride by a wet method, sufficiently dried at 120 deg.C and screened to give a fluorescent substance raw material. The raw material is sufficiently mixed with ammonium chloride in a powdery state by a ball mill, packed into quartz crucibles with a cover at about 950 deg.C for 1.5 hour and cooled in air to give the objective zinc sulfide phosphor.
