Shock absorver attaching part manufacturing method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a manufacturing method for shock absorber attaching part in which a rubber vibration isolator and a bushing are press fitted in an eyebracket and the I.D. of said bushing is expanded to prevent the fall off of said bushing and rubber vibration isolator from the eyebracket. CONSTITUTION:A tubular rubber vibration isolator 14 having its outside diameter D slightly larger than the inside diameter d of an evebracket 13 is pressed into said eyebracket 13 and a bushing 16 formed by helically winding a steel sheet is inserted into a center hole 15 of said rubber vibtation isolator 14 to constitute an attaching part 12 of a shock absorber 11. An overlapping part 17 of the bushing 16 is expanded by a press forming and the like method to form the bushing 16 to normal, i.e. tubular, shape while compressing the rubber vibration isolator 14 to increase its inner and outer diameter whereby making said respective parts into an integral body. This method simplifies and reduce the cost of the attaching part manufacture, and the hardness of the rubger vibration isolator can be selected to the desired level by adjusting the extent of expansion of the bushing 16.
