Production of casting mold

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To produce casting molds at low cost and with ease by making a pattern with blank which permits easy transmission of microwaves, packing the casting mold material composed of thermosetting resins and refractories containing dielectric material for microwaves in the frame and radiating microwaves to allow the casting material to set. CONSTITUTION: A pattern 1 is made by blank which permits easy transmission of microwaves, such as silicone rubber, ceramics, etc. A frame 2 is provided to this pattern 1 and a casting material 3 being the resin coated sand (dry state) added with thermosetting resins and dielectric material for microwaves, e.g., several % of Fe 3 O 4 is packed in this frame 2, thence microwaves of 2450MHz, 1KW are radiated for 5 minutes. This causes the casting material to set through self evolution of heat. After perfect setting, the pattern is drawn (parted), whereby the casting mold for casting is produced.
