Photo transmitter
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enable every terminal equipment to possess transmitting-receiving terminals with a little light loss by transmitting photo signals by making a filter of a dielectric multi-layer film allow a light signal of a 1st wavelength band to pass through while reflecting that of a 2nd wavelength band. CONSTITUTION:In filter 28, a dielectric multi-layer film fitted to optical fiber axes 20...23 at an angle of 45 deg. gives effect to wavelength separation and a photo signal of a F1-wavelength band is allowed to pass through the film while that of a F2-wavelength band is reflected. Now, light of wavelength bands of F1 and F2, when entering from fiber 20, is made by lend 24 into a parallel beam and filter 28 transmits the photo signal of the F1-wavelength band to fiber 22 by passing, and that of the F2-wavelength band to fiber 23 by reflecting. Simultaneously, the photo signal of the F2- wavelength band from fiber 21 is reflected and sent to fiber 22. Consequently, every terminal equipment can have transmitting-receiving terminals with a little light loss.
