Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To generate motive force by connecting a cylinder and a piston with a piston rod in such a way that the center axes of the pressure receiving surface of piston and the piston pin will not intersect each other. CONSTITUTION: A working substance 8 applies a force F 1 to cylinder 1 and another force F 2 to piston 3. Pushed by the force F 2 , the piston 3 works on a piston pin 5, where the force diverges into F 3 and F 4 . The force F 3 acts on the piston rod 4 and further on the cylinder 1 through a joint pin 6 while the force F 4 pushes the cylinder 1 through the piston pin 5 and the piston 3. Accordingly, a rotary motion is performed by the force F 4 with the joint pin 6 as axis. The piston 3, being applied with the force F 2 , makes a combined motion of F 3 and F 4 as the total. The force F 1 applied to the cylinder changes its direction, in case F 3 and F 4 are applied to the piston pin 5, into the one shown by F 5 in the figure, so that the whole makes a rotary motion with the pin 6 as axis.
