Automatic pump
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent increase in frequency in pump starts and stops by providing a check valve at a pump inlet in such a manner as to release the amount of water in response to the pressure at the pump inlet. CONSTITUTION: A check valve 3 is located at the inlet side of a pump, whose valve 31 is linked to a diaphragm 45. Pressure on the inlet side is working on one end of the diaphragm whereas atmospheric pressure is applied to the other end. Opening of the valve 31 is then regulated by the pressure on the inlet side. Thus, as the amount of water to be lifted is increased, such as in a pressure feed stage, the valve 31 exerts a resistance to the flow of liquid according to the amount of lift. This places a limit on the increase in the liquid flow, thereby making the frequency in pump starts and stops constant. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
