Positioning of numerically controlled grinder

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To position the grinder at a desired working position without change of procedure, by providing a stationary member with one or a pair of left and right face automatic sizing devices for various works. CONSTITUTION: In the angle slide grinder, if a configuration of a grindstone 9 for the machine is chosen, since the position of the end of the grindston 9 relative to the position of the working diameter of a work 14 is designated as a fixed point K, the zero point position of the face automatic sizing device is arranged at a fixed position P space a definite distance (a), and the relationship between the standard surface of the work 14 and the grindstone 9 is kept constant at all times so that the common offset amount and working numerical values may be programmed. Thus when the work 9 is changed, by the same face automatic sizing device the control of a longitudinal size of the work becomes possible, and change of procedure including moving the face automatic sizing device is not required.
