Silver halide color photographic material

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve color development performance of a silver halide photographic material and its image preservativity, by adding an acyl acetanilide type yellow coupler having a specified group to said material. CONSTITUTION: To a silver halide photographic material is added an acyl acetanilide type yellow coupler having in said acyl part or said anilide part a group represented by formula I in which X is -NHCO-; Y is a divalent organic group; Z is formula II or III; R 1 is alkyl or aryl; and R 2 is H, alkyl, or aryl. As a preferable coupler residue to be used, a group represented by formula IV, R 3 being alkyl, aryl, or preferably tertiary butyl, is recommended.
