Magnetic bearing
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the ratio of an axially unstable spring constant to a radial spring constant, by providing magnetic radial bearings for radial supporting and by providing damping coils and axial control electromagnets for diminishing the axial instability CONSTITUTION: A magnetic bearing magnetically supports a rotating shaft 1 integrally provided with a rotary yoke 2, by outer and inner stators 3, 5. Control electromagnets 7, which cooperate with an armature disc 6, is regulated to eliminatethe axial instability of the shaft 1. The outer stator 3 is divided into parts 3', 10 by another part (one-turn coil)9 which is nonmagnetic but highly electroconductive. Magnetic circuits are composed of the parts 2, 3', 4, 5, 10. In each magnetic circuit, the reluctance in gaps G 1 , G 2 is denoted by Rg, a permanent magnet 4 is represented by the magnetomotive force Em and the internal reluctance rm and the other reluctance is denoted by Ro and the one-turn coil is denoted by L.
