Hexagonal system ferrite powder for magnetic recording
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain hexagonal system ferrite powder with low aggregability and high dispersibility suitable for high density vertical magnetization recording by calcining hexagonal system ferrite powder contg. a substituted element for controlling the coercive force in an inert atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Hexagonal system barium ferrite powder contg. a substituted element such as Al, Ti, Cr, V, Mn or Co for controlling the coercive force to 200-2,000 Oe is calcined at 200-650 deg.C in an inert atmosphere such as a nitrogen, or vacuum atmosphere to obtain hexagonal system magnetic ferrite powder with low aggregability and superior dispersibility suitable for high density vertical magnetization recording.
