Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reproduce color pictures of high quality by obtaining the specific color data for deletion of the foundation from mutual compensations of plural color data and then compensating these color data in response to the specific color data. CONSTITUTION:Each 8-bit chrominance signal which underwent the photoelectric conversion by a photodetecting unit, the digitization and the conversion into complementary colors is supplied to comparators 160-1-160-3 of a UCR processing circuit 160 respectively in the form of the picture data of 6 bits through the shading compensation, the gamma compensation and the masking compensation (150). Then the comparison is carried out between Y and M, M and C, and C and Y respectively to decide the minimum value of Y, M and C respectively. These minimum values are used as basic data (BK) for inking. A multiplication ROMs 160-19 multiplies the data BK and the 4-bit coefficient value, and the upper 4 bits of the obtained 6-bit value are outputted to subtraction ROMs 160-16-160- 18. Then these values are subtracted from each picture data to perform the UCR processing.
