Stabilizer for halogen-containing resin
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled stabilizer having excellent resistance to discoloration by heat and shelf stability without causing turbidity, by adding a glycol to a mixture of two specified tin stabilizers. CONSTITUTION:The titled stabilizer obtd. by adding a glycol (A) such as dipropylene glycol to a mixture consisting of at least 10wt% monoalkyltin tris- (alkyl thioglycolate) (B) such as mono-n-octyltin tris(isooctyl thioglycolate) and a dialkyltin bis(alkyl thioglycolate) (C) such as di-n-octyltin bis(isooctyl thioglycolate. When a halogen-contg. resin requires high heat resistance, the compds. B and C are used togeter. However, when these compds. are mixed together, the resulting soln. becomes turbid with the passage of time and a precipitate is formed. By adding the compd. A, such a precipitate is not formed and filtration time can be greatly shortened.
