Optical device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a retroreflector from dew condensation and to measure atmospheric characteristics always optically by detecting the surface temperature of the retroreflector and an atmospheric dew point and controlling the surface temperature of the retroreflector to a required value by a heating means. CONSTITUTION:Light projected from a light transmitting part 2 is transmitted in air through a lens 3 returned by the retroreflector 7 and made incident to a photodetecting part 6 through a bending receiving mirror 4 and a reflector 5 to measure optical atmospheric characteristics such as gas concentration. A heater 8 is fitted to the back of the retroreflector 7 and a temperatue sensor 9 for detecting the surface temperature and a humidity sensor 10 consisting of dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperature detectors 11, 12 are fitted to the surface and a part close to the retroreflector 7 respectively. A dew point is found out by the humidity sensor 10 and the retroreflector 7 is heated by the heater 8 so that the temperature sensor 9 detects a temperature slightly higher than the dew point, so that dew condensation is prevented.
