Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform printing to large size paper by a small apparatus, by performing printing and a new line shifting while allowing a self-propelling printing apparatus having a printing head and a control circuit mounted thereto to run on paper placed on a flat surface in all directions. CONSTITUTION:A printing apparatus 11 having a printing head 29 and a control circuit comprising a control IC 35 is allowed to selfpropel on paper placed on a flat surface in all directions by X-,Y-direction step motors 16, 21 and a pair of rubber belts 13, 18 and printing is performed to the paper during movement to an X-direction by the printing head 29 while a new line is performed during movement to a Y-direction and printing to the large size paper can be performed only by extending the moving distance of the printing apparatus. Therefore, it is unnecessary to extend the length of parts or to enlarge the printing apparatus in order to print the large size paper and power consumption is not also increased.
