Controlling system for detecting medium

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable to easily detect drawing-out of a medium, by a method wherein drawing-out of a medium in the condition in which printing is not completed is detected through an interrupt of a time signal, in a passbook/slip printer. CONSTITUTION:A main controlling part 31 starts a timer 36 in response to the completion of initial setting of an inserting mechanism part 19, and a timer signal is inputted to the main controlling part 31 through an interrupt-controlling part 34 for each predetermined period of time. The main controlling part 31 reads information on the state of a medium-controlling part 32 from the interrupt signal, and discriminates whether or not the medium is drawn out. The medium-controlling part 32 is inputted with detection signals from sensors UES, PSS, MDS, MSS1, MSS2, and discriminates the presence or absence of a passbook 30 and whether or no an inserting or discharging operation is being carried out. The main controlling part 31 discriminates whether the passbook 30 or the like is inserted or drawn out on the basis of output signals from the sensors MSS2, UES, and when the drawing-out is detected, the part 31 sets ON a flag F at a flag-setting part 35, starts a sensing part 33 to read the information, and judges that the medium is drawn out.
