Front cover locking mechanism for information recording and reproducing device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify and miniaturize a locking mechanism by locking the relay member rotated according to the movement of a front cover by the locking member working with the transfer motion of a loading mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge 18 is inserted from an insertion port 20 and a pin 28 is lifted by rotating a cover 26 and driving piece 30 to push up a sliding plate 22. With further pushing in of the cartridge and rotation of a motor, the cartridge 18 is vertically descended after its horizontal movement, hence the cover 26 is rotated in closing direction to descend the sliding plate 22. The pin 21 of a pulley 7 is fitted into the notch 27 of the sliding plate 22 with the motor revolution. The cover 26 is therefore locked with the interruption of the pin 21 even if another cartridge is tried to be inserted and the locking mechanism of the front cover 26 can be simplified and miniaturized.
