Polysulfide composition
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a composition which can cure into a product having unimpaired surface appearance and beautifulness and excellent sealability, by mixing a liquid polysulfide with lead dioxide and phenylhydrazine or sodium perborate. CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising 100pts.wt. liquid polysulfide, 2W30pts. wt. lead dioxide and 0.001pt.wt. phenylhydrazine and/or 0.1W10pts.wt. sodium perborate. A polymer terminated with a reactive mercapto group, desirably, a polymer represented by the formula is used as said polysulfide. In the formula, X has an average of 2W45, and R is a bivalent aliphatic group whose carbon chain may be interrupted by an oxygen atom). Lead dioxide is a curing agent for the liquid polysulfide. By using phenylhydrazine and/or sodium perborate, a defect of a liquid polysulfide-based sealing material, namely, cratering can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
