Thermal transfer ink and sheet made by using it
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title ink which has excellent transferability, workability, and safety, gives a transferred image with high rubbing resistance, and is useful for, e.g., a printing ribbon, by incorporating a polyoxyethylene compound into a mixture comprising a coloring material, a synthetic resin emulsion, and a tackifier resin. CONSTITUTION:A coloring material, such as a dye or pigment, is mixed with an emulsion of a synthetic resin such as a polyester resin, a polyamide resin, a polyurethane resin, an acrylic resin, a PVC resin, an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer resin or a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer resin; an emulsion of wax such as a paraffin wax or low-molecular PE wax, if required; and a tackifier resin such as a terpene resin, a cumarone resin or a rosin resin. 0.1-150pts.wt. polyoxyethylene compound (e.g., polyethylene glycol) is incorporated into 100pts.wt. (on a solids basis) this mixture.
