Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous display of PS (program service name) data by reading PS data only at the time of the change of the reception frequency in a radio data receiver and confirming a prescribed number of times or above of coincidence to hold this data and displaying it on a display element. CONSTITUTION:The processor of a controller 14 discriminates whether the frequency division ratio of a programmable frequency divider in a PLL circuit is changed or not after the channel selection processing: and when it is changed, a variable (n) is equalized to one (step 52), and the output data of a decoder 9 is read to obtain PS data (step 53), and this data is defined as PS data Dn. Thereafter, it is discriminated whether the variable (n) is equal to a constant (x) (>=2) or not, and one is added to the variable (n) and this calculated value is used as the new variable (n) to execute the step 53 again in case of n<x. In case of n=x, it is discriminated whether PS data D1-Dn are equal to one another or not, and the step 52 is executed to obtain PS data D1-Dn again when they are not equal. When they are equal to one another, PS data D1 is written in a prescribed storage position of a RAM 15 and PS data is displayed on a display element 17.
