Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily produce a high molecular liquid crystal orientation film where a high-degree orientation which is effective in the improvement of the responsiveness of electric field and contrast is executed by constituting a film of the high molecular liquid crystal to which an orientation process is executed in a coating method held between two conductive films, at least either of which is transparent. CONSTITUTION:The layer or the film constituted of high molecular liquid crystal to which the orientation process is executed in the coating method, that means, the high molecular liquid crystal coated orientation film 1 is held between two conductive films 2 and 2'. Either of two conductive films, for example, the conductive film 2 is previously provided on a substrate 3 and another one, that is, the conductive film 2' is directly provided on the surface of the high molecular liquid crystal coated orientation film 1 by evaporation, etc., or it is previously provided on the substrate 3', either will do. And at least either of the conductive films 2 and 2' is made a transparent conductive film. Thus, the high molecular liquid crystal film where the high-degree orientation is executed so as to realize the improvement of the response of electric field and the contrast can be easily obtained.
