Magneto-optical recording medium
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a reproduction signal and recording sensitivity by providing a reflecting film consisting of an Al alloy cont. at least one kind of specific element on a magneto-optical recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An interference layer is formed on a polycarbonate substrate and the recording layer of TbFeCo is provided by simultaneous two-dimensional sputtering using gaseous Ar. An Al target disposed with one kind of chip selected from Pt, Pd, Mo or Cr is sputtered in the gaseous Ar to form the reflecting layer of 300Angstrom . Optimum recording power and carrier level decrease with an increase in the content of Pt, Pd, Mo or Cr in Al. The optimum recording power can be largely lowered with substantially no decrease in the carrier level if the content of Pt, Pd, Mo or Cr is low. The medium has the higher sensitivity as the optimum recording power of the medium is lower. The quality of the reproduction signal is higher as the medium has the higher carrier level.
