Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make the subject device compact and highly functional by constituting, a pass book transport channel in such a manner that a part corresponding to an automatic page feed mechanism is provided on an extension of a main transport channel of a printing part, and a part corresponding to a page not fed takes a continuous smoothly bent form. CONSTITUTION:The operation of a page feed mechanism is such that first, the page 1a of a pass book 1 which is subjected to an intended page feed is caused to stop following the registering by a sensor 21 of the page at a prearranged page feed position of an inclined transport channel on an extension of a printing part. At that time, a page 1b on an opposite side which is not fed is retained on a position bent by a guide 13 across a bound part 1c of the pass book 1. Next, the rotation of a page feed roller 7 is controlled so that the page 1a is transported above the page feed roller 7 and then is transported to the left by rotation of a pair of holding rollers 10. This results in the transport of the page 1a to the top of the page 16 and the subsequent completion of page feeding operation. As the pass book transport channel is of a bent construction, so that the device can be miniaturized significantly and its performance be highly increased.
