Abstract 6-(1-AMINOCYCLOALKANECARBOXAMIDO) AND 6-(1-AMINOARYLCYCLOALKANECARBOXAMIDO) PENICILLANIC ACIDS WITH BROAD SPECTRUM ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY ARE OBTAINED RAPIDLY AND IN HIGH YIELD, WITHOUT THE NEED TO ISOLATE THEM FROM DILUTE SOLUTIONS, BY AN IMPROVED PROCESS COMPRISING CONDENSING AND PRECIPITATING IN ONE STEP THE PRODUCT FROM THE ADDITION OF AN N-CARBOXYANHYDRIDE OF AN AMINO ACID TO A HIGHLY CONCENTRATED, E.G. 5-40% BY WEIGHT, AQUEOUS SUSPENSION OF 6-AMINOPENICILLANIC ACID.
